Coupon Lingo

Couponers Have Their Own Lingo...

Some of the super deals I get are due to the coupons I collect each time I shop, everywhere (Publix, Target, Winn Dixie, etc).  I keep my eyes peeled for specialty coupons, like:

BLINKIES -a tiny blinking box that dispenses coupons where the product is located;
PEELIES -manf coupons stuck to the product—yes, you can remove it if you plan to use it later;
TEAR PADS -manf coupons on a pad located near the product or at a special display;
HANG TAGS -usually around the neck of a bottle.

Often when these are available, the product is not yet on sale, so I grab a couple and save them for future promotions.

WYB - when you buy (as in, free eggs wyb two packages of bacon)
B1G1 - buy one at regular price, get one free
BOGO - same, buy one, get one free
OYNV - on your next visit (as in, buy $15 today and save $5 on Loreal products on your next visit with this coupon)

MQ - manufacturer coupon
SC - store coupon (can be stacked with mq for combined savings)
RC - retailer coupon (same as store coupon)

Smart Source - SS - coupon insert often found in the weekend paper
Red Plum - RP - coupon insert often found in the weekend paper
Proctor & Gamble - P&G - coupon insert often found in weekend paper
Unilever - coupon insert sometimes found in weekend paper
